Add page numbers to a PDF
Documents assembled out of several pieces almost never come out numbered, and a bundle that has to be referred to in a meeting or attached to an application is much easier to talk about when every page says which one it is.

How it works
- Pick the PDF that needs numbering.
- Choose the corner, how the number should read, and what to count from.
- Number the pages and save the result.
Questions
How do I keep the cover page unnumbered?
Choose the pages instead of all of them and type "2-", which means page two onwards. The cover stays clean and the page after it becomes number one.
What does the total in "1 of 12" count?
The pages that actually get a number. Skip a cover on a twelve-page file and the numbering reads up to eleven, which is the last number a reader will find when they go looking for it.
Can I carry on from another document?
Yes. Set the starting number to whatever the previous part finished on plus one, and the count runs from there instead of beginning again at one.
