Convert PNG to WebP
WebP is the format to use when you are putting images on a website: it holds transparency like PNG but at a fraction of the size, which is a direct improvement to how fast a page loads.
Starting the converter…
How it works
- Add your PNG files.
- Decide how much lighter they should be.
- Convert, then save the WebP files.
Questions
Is WebP safe to use on a website now?
Yes. Every current browser displays WebP. The caution is outside the browser, where some older desktop software still will not open it.
Does transparency survive?
Yes. WebP stores transparency just as PNG does, so a logo with a see-through background stays see-through after the conversion.
