Resize a photo for SSC forms
SSC application portals reject photographs that fall outside a narrow size band, and the rejection usually arrives with no explanation of which rule you broke. This page is preset to the size SSC asks for.
Starting the converter…
SSC asks for 20–50 KB (CGL can go as low as 12 KB). Always check the current notice on the official portal; these limits change between exams and years.
How it works
- Add your photograph.
- The target is already set for SSC.
- Press the button to compress, then save it and upload it to the portal.
Questions
What size does SSC want?
Commonly 20–50 KB as a JPG at roughly 3.5 × 4.5 cm, though SSC CGL has asked for as little as 12 KB in some years. Check the notice for the exam you are applying to.
Can a photo be too small for the form?
Yes, and this catches people out. A file under the minimum is rejected just as firmly as one over the maximum, so aim inside the band rather than as small as possible.
What about the signature?
Signatures have their own limits, usually a different size and shape from the photograph. Use the signature page for that.
